This Institution was founded in the year 1891 as a Primary School by the East India Company for the purpose of providing Education to the serving European away Employees

In April 1906, the Government of Madras issued a Special Code of Regulations for all European Schools in the Presidency. This necessitated the separation of Europeans and Anglo-Indians from the Indian Students. The School followed January to December as Academic year and periodical inspections were made by Inspectors. Reports by the Inspectors highlighted the satisfactory progress made by the School and paved way to develop into a useful and efficient Institution in 1921.

After Independence, the School was upgraded as Middle School for the benefit of European and the Anglo-Indian Community. In course of time, the children of all Railway Employees, irrespective of community, were entertained in the School under the Code of Anglo-Indian schools, Government of Tamil Nadu. On formation of Zonal Railways, Southern Railway took up the running of this School within its jurisdiction. Gradually, the School was developed and upgraded into a Full- fledged High School in 1963, presenting the students for the Std XI [AISLC] Public

Examinations; at that time also, the Scholastic Year was January to December. The Railway Administration took great interest in developing and improving the Standard of the School. The Department of Education, Government of Tamil Nadu also guided the School in the development.

In 1978, the school was upgraded as Higher Secondary School to fall in line with the New Pattern of Education [102] in the State. Since then, the School has been following the June May Scholastic Year, as practiced by the State Government Schools

Our School has well Equipped Laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science. The Library functions with Volume of Books on various subjects.

Our School has the Good Standard both among the Teachers and the Students. Various Competitions like Essay, Elocution, Quiz, Drawing, Music etc., are conducted every year to bring the Hidden Talents of the Students to light.

Our School has been continuously producing Very Good Results [i.e., 98% & above] in SSLC & +2 Examinations. We are also able to produce the State Rank in these Examinations. We have also been producing Many Centum Scorers in Various Subjects in both X & XII Government Public Examinations every year.

With the Full Encouragement & Support from our Railway Administration, our School is molding the Students into Useful Citizens of our Country by giving All-round Development to them.
